brief
The Australian Technology Park is one of the largest mixed-use commercial developments in Australia. The 105,000 sqm undertaking was to comprise of a variety of function spaces— ranging from offices, community, recreational, arts and retail spaces. Within the Masterplan, the Foundry was to be the new home for the Commonwealth Bank, who wanted a whole new approach to workplace design.
solution
Our solution was to utilise three very large parallel floor plates which allowed for an efficient layout of office and service spaces throughout the towers. Reminiscent of large-scale contemporary industrial offices, the Foundry responded to the existing Locomotive Workshop, interspersed by a series of light-filled atriums. This project was undertaken in collaboration with FJMT Architects and Aspect Studios up to DA approval.
