Our client owned a building from the 1980s that had reached the end of its serviceable life. It was in dire need of a makeover to bring it up to modern standards and create a workplace suited to its prime location in the heart of Parramatta.

solution

Our approach was to strip the building back to its original structure and reinvent it as a modern workplace to attract blue chip commercial tenants. The building form was re-sculpted to be softer and more appropriate to its heritage setting, utilising terracotta screen profiles to conceal the above ground parking levels. The office facades were refitted with highly efficient full height glazing with expressed horizontal sun shading, drastically improving the buildings thermal performance. The interiors were totally reworked with new amenities and a full height atrium space, linking all the floors into a unified campus experience.
