Our take on the traditional farmhouse. Set on a rural property, our clients wanted a home that responded to the land, maximised solar access and captures views across the surrounding landscape.

Drawing on the simple forms and materials of the surrounding agricultural buildings, we developed an L-shaped plan that defines distinct public and private spaces around a central courtyard. Carefully positioned openings frame views across the property and encourage natural cross-ventilation, while a simple pitched roof references the traditional Australian farm shed. Dark weatherboard cladding takes its cue from the black oiled post and rail fences found throughout the surrounding landscape.
