Anne Colenbrander
Associate

B. Architectural Design, M. Arch, UNSW

Adventurous in spirit, Anne’s career and life trajectory have taken her across several countries — beginning with her birthplace of South Africa, Australia and later, Switzerland. Known as the wordsmith of Sissons, Anne is an associate at the firm, having completed her studies in architecture in UNSW. She embarked on her first graduate role abroad in Zurich where she accumulated precious design knowledge — acquiring an eye for understated and timeless design details — as well as honing her German language skills.

Anne was awarded the David Lindner Prize in 2016, prior to joining our office, for her research and work in providing affordable housing alternatives for homeless older women. She feels very strongly for the social cause of architecture, believing that it can be shaped for the greater good of society. It is her civic-mindedness and open approach to design exploration and resolution that brings a well-rounded edge to the design and delivery of our work here at Sissons.

Sissons has a really strong teamwork ethic. Team design reviews and workshopping of ideas are part of our normal workday. The staff are all very supportive of one another and we learn collectively from one another's experiences.
